Directions From Sedona To

The Grand Canyon South Rim

When taking I-40 W to AZ-64 N, the Grand Canyon is located about a two-hour drive away from Sedona. For the most direct route:

  • Take State Route 179 and get onto I-17. After you stay on 1-17, it becomes the main street of Flagstaff. From here, when you drive under the railway line, make a left turn at the first traffic light to enter Hwy 180. Take Hwy 180 until you reach Hwy 64. Then, take Hwy 64 to the south entrance for the Grand Canyon.
  • After entering at the south entrance, you can drive to the overlooks on the East Rim and walk around the main area on the South Rim. Here, you’ll be able to see the historic El Tovar Lodge, Kolb Studio, the Hopi House, and the Bright Angel trail, which leads into the Grand Canyon.
